Auto-ISAC in Europe
In June of 2021, the Auto-ISAC appointed Dr. Martin Emele as European Director (EuD) and was tasked with establishing and leading the European Regional Branch of Auto-ISAC.
The goals of the European branch include establishing a regional Auto-ISAC presence in Europe by shepherding close coordination and alignment with European-based US Auto-ISAC members and other automotive companies who might join. This includes crafting alliances with key partners including the European Automobile Manufacturer Association (ACEA) and the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA), as well as government agencies such as the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA).
In October 2022, the Auto-ISAC announced a formal collaboration with the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) and the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) to create a central European hub for information sharing on motor vehicle cybersecurity. Under the agreement, a formal European office will be incorporated as a legal entity in an EU member state, with a Steering Committee formed that is composed of an equal number of representatives from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers.
